Help make the Flower Show happen

Join the team behind one of Chipstead’s best-loved traditions.
The Chipstead Village Flower Show & Fair is organised and run by volunteers from the local community and we’re always on the lookout for more people to support us.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours, help for a morning or become involved throughout the year, we would love to hear from you.

No previous experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

How you can help

Distribution of Leaflets & Selling Raffle Tickets
Help us spread the word before the show by delivering leaflets around the community, or join our friendly team on the day selling raffle tickets. It’s a great way to meet people while helping raise funds to keep the Flower Show flourishing.

Setting Up the Showground
Help us transform the grounds in the days leading up to the show. Jobs may include putting up signs, preparing the site, arranging tables and chairs, decorating areas and helping everything get into position.

The Flower Show Marquee
Help receive and arrange competition entries, guide exhibitors, welcome visitors or assist the stewards inside the main marquee.

Tea Tent
Join our friendly tea tent team serving tea, coffee, homemade cakes and refreshments to visitors throughout the afternoon.

BBQ and Refreshments
Help prepare, cook or serve food at one of the show’s busiest and most popular attractions.

Welcoming Visitors
Help at the entrance, provide directions, answer simple questions and make sure visitors receive a warm Chipstead welcome.

Clearing Up
An extra pair of hands at the end of the show or the following day makes an enormous difference. Help us pack away equipment and return the showground to normal.

Join the planning team

We are also pleased to hear from anyone interested in becoming more involved with organising the show. We meet several times a year, usually in the evening, and there are opportunities to help with supplier liaison, publicity and promotions, sponsorship, entertainment, competitions and many other areas.

EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS

Volunteer for as much or as little as you can

You do not need to commit to the whole day.

Some volunteers help for a couple of hours, while others choose a morning, afternoon or one particular job. You can volunteer individually, with a friend, as a family or as part of a local organisation.
