Chipstead Flower Show 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Hello everyone and welcome to the 113th Chipstead Village Flower Show and Fair in modern times.
With the exception of World War II and the Covid interruption, the ‘Fair in Chipstead’ has been going since 1549. We are very fortunate to be able to continue our much-loved village tradition by holding this event at the heart of Chipstead at Elmore, once more courtesy of John and Carol Wates.
While many of you will remember that we experienced 4 seasons in one day last year it did not put off the many visitors which came and enjoyed all that was on offer. The ‘Elmore 7’ (mile) running race had a huge turnout with many athletes refuelling at the BBQ tent, until all produce was gone! There were excellent class entries, entertainment for all the family and a fully stocked bar. We are hoping for some more consistent, sunny weather this year (and an ice cream van which stays for the whole day)!
The schedule for all the class entries will be published herein and contains all the information required including details on how to enter. Last year we had a record number of entries and early online entries are encouraged. There are no charges for entries so hopefully this will allow for plenty of planning, planting and modelling of home produce to make for some exciting competition and results. This year there have been some changes to the Chipstead Flower Show committee. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Chairman, Peter Quiney who has done a tremendous job of organising this event over the last few years. We are still very lucky to have the support of the Vice Chair, Rosemary Selfe who works tirelessly behind the scenes to pull this event together with the help of a very enthusiastic and willing committee.
As you may be aware, aside from the committee, the Flower Show is run by a number of volunteers for which we are very grateful. We are always on the look out for more so if you have any time to spare, would like to help or get involved please email: chairman@chipsteadflowershow.co.uk.
We are looking forward to another great show and hope to see as many of you there as possible.
Please note that in 2025 the show will be held on the 19th of July.

Friends of Chipstead Village Flower Show and Fair
As with many organisations in the village, the Chipstead Flower Show, now in its 112th year, welcomes your continued support to grow and improve. The cost of the marquees, catering equipment, insurance etc. is substantial, and rising each year. It is becoming more and more difficult to sustain this village event now, and into the future.

"One of my favourite days out in the year. So quintessentially English; to sit on a lawn in the afternoon looking at the beautiful rolling English countryside, eating cake washed down with a glass of pimms whilst listening to a jazz band."
-
"Lovely afternoon, my little one was transfixed by all the attractions and you achieved the impossible - a perfect cup of tea in a very busy tea tent!"

"Quintessentially British event. We brought along Canadian friends this year who felt as if they were in a British film scene. Wonderful day, great location and great mix of stalls."
